Your Donation Saves Lives
MEOW Foundation runs on the generosity of our supporters. At MEOW, we rely on donations to run our programs and provide essential vet care to the stray and abandoned cats that come through our Adoption Centre. As a no-kill animal rescue, we believe that all cats deserve a chance at a fulfilling life, regardless of age, health, behaviour, or otherwise.
We gratefully accept all donations – no amount is too small! Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $10 or more.
Why Donate to MEOW?
MEOW Foundation was founded in 2000, and since then we have provided assistance to more than 40,000 cats. In addition to the rescue and adoption of cats, we also engage in evidence-based humane programs to help reduce cat overpopulation, which prevents suffering.
Your donation will help fund our programs, including:
Rescue & Adoption: Nearly 1,000 cats come through the doors of our Adoption Centre every year. Every cat who comes through our Adoption Centre receives the medical treatment they need to live happy and healthy lives, including health checks, vaccines, medications, and surgery. Once these cats are ready, we adopt them to loving families through our Adoption Centre and Regal Cat Café.
SNAP: Our Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) provides low-income Calgarians with access to affordable spay and neuter surgeries for their cats. In 2022, MEOW facilitated more than 2,000 spay and neuter surgeries.
TNR: Through our Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program, MEOW is able to support the health of Calgary’s feral cat communities and help reduce overpopulation. Through our network of TNR caregivers, we are able to support 115 feral cat communities across the city.
But the numbers aren't the most important reason to support MEOW. Your donation to MEOW provides life-changing care to each and every cat or kitten we help. It means food when they're hungry, surgery when they're injured, a new home when they're abandoned, and life when they might have been euthanized.
We are here for cats and the people who love them.
Donating items to the Adoption Centre…
Most of the food, supplies, and other items needed for the Adoption Centre and foster homes are donated by OUR supporters!
Where can you donate?
Our cafe has a bin to collect smaller donations on behalf of the MEOW Foundation.
Donations can also be made directly to MEOW Foundation Adoption Centre (35 Skyline Crescent NE, Calgary AB, T2K 5X2). Donations can be brought to the back door of the Adoption Centre from 8 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and 9 am - 4 pm on weekends. Donations of cat supplies can also be made virtually through our Amazon Wish List.
Toys, scratching posts, litter boxes, or linens are gratefully accepted at the MEOW Charity Thrift Shop (336 41st Ave NE #110), where 100% of proceeds support MEOW cats. Any donations of used items going to the Thrift Shop must be clean and in excellent condition.
